Mitch's LW stuff.
There are a number of things I'd like to add, but we'll see what time permits...
LW Stuff

LW Notes - A gaggle of tips (reminders for myself with a thought to sharing them w/others) on various topics from animation to plugins to keyboard shortcuts.  The update dates of the various sections are listed in the navbar.

LW KeyPrinter - (Right click to "Save Target As")
A MS Word document for keeping track of keyboard shortcuts (yes, you have to type them in yourself).  Just looking at it enumerates all the KBS available in Lightwave (I was surprised at the number).  It is layed out pretty much in the order the keys appear on a keyboard.  This one is has my KBS for Layout but can be adapted for Modeler.  Please let me know if I missed any.
LayoutKeyPrinter - Updated 08/15/06
ModelerKeyPrinter - Updated 08/03/06
GraphEditoKeyPrinter - Updated 06/01/05
MaestroKeyPrinter - Updated 05/31/05

Suggestion:  Open LW and stretch the "configure keys" panel so it is full screen height.  Open Word and position it so you can see the "configue keys" panel, that way you can enter quite a few keys before going back to LW to scroll more KBS into view.

A "Load-from-Scene" candle flame based on a technique created Dave Jerrard, w/a nifty noise technique added by me. Includes explanation. SpinQuad discussion here.

A couple of examples demonstrating the use of Relativity's MoveVec function to create a constant velocity camera. Notes are included.

Note that if you choose to use this method, you will see that Layout's responsiveness will slowdown.
Once you are happy with the motion, you can bake it using the "Freeze Relativity Motion" function. You can freeze the motion of any object, even an object which does not have Relativity applied - in this case the camera. After Freezing (baking) the motion, you can turn off the instance of Relativity being used, but keep it in case you want to refine it. This will reduce the overhead of MoveVec when scrolling thru your scene.

The Freeze Motion panel has a setting for keyframe frequency, so you don't need to create a KF for every frame and then you can edit the motion path after freezing. Note that it will use the frame range set in the motion panel when freezing the motion.

This would be a good way to rough in your motion at a constant velocity, but then tweak later as necessary.

SliderCalc

SliderCalc is a calculator for use when creating expressions for sliders  Use it to compute the values that you want to map the slider to.

Analysis of Henrik Andersson's DangerGirl human model rig. - Updated 09/26/03
He posted a thread about it on CG Talk.  I found it interesting, so I've been reverse engineering it.   The analysis is in Excel format.  It is a work in progress, so it may be updated sometime between today and never.  I hope others will find it useful. If you are motivated to do any work on it, send it over and I'll consider adding your info to the spreadsheet.
